31 Trainers Equipped to Multiply Longterm Protection
June 26th, 2026 marked a milestone that will impact vulnerable children across the Philippines for years to come, especially survivors of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).
In partnership with International Justice Mission Philippines (IJM), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Authority for Child Care (NACC), local government units, and NGO partners, Global Child Advocates trained 31 child protection leaders to become certified Framework for Family Engagement (FFE) Trainers.
Each of these dedicated leaders were nominated and then hand-selected to carry forth the vision to see every child heal, belong, and thrive within safe family relationships. Representing government agencies, local governments, and child-serving organizations, they are now equipped with practical tools to identify safe family connections, strengthen protective relationships, and support children in achieving lasting permanency.
For many survivors of OSAEC, healing requires much more than rescue. Children need safe, committed adults who can walk with them long after a case is closed. They need permanent safe families, belonging, and supportive communities that help restore hope and protect them from future harm. GCA’s Framework for Family Engagement equips practitioners to identify and strengthen those relationships so that children are not defined by their trauma, but surrounded by the people who can help them heal.
The significance of this moment extends far beyond a single training.
These 31 trainers now have committed to train over 200 additional practitioners throughout the first year in the Philippines. Through this multiplier effect, social workers, case managers, foster care practitioners, and child protection professionals will gain access to practical family engagement strategies that help children move from separation and uncertainty toward safety, healing, and permanency within family relationships.
For Global Child Advocates, this represents a significant opportunity for impact.
While direct services remain critical, lasting transformation happens when local leaders are equipped to carry the work forward into places we cannot reach. Every training delivered, every practitioner equipped, every family strengthened, and every child connected to safe and loving relationships has the potential to multiply the impact of this work far beyond what GCA could accomplish alone.
We are deeply grateful to IJM Philippines, DSWD, NACC, Jessa Lazarte, local government leaders, and our many partners who have embraced a shared vision for children. Their leadership and collaboration are helping transform child protection systems to prioritize family-based care, permanency, and long-term healing for children and survivors.
Most importantly, we are grateful for the support of Austin Ridge Bible Church and faithful supporters like you. Your generosity makes it possible to equip leaders, strengthen systems, and expand family-based solutions that protect children from abuse, trafficking, and exploitation.
Together, we are helping build a future where more children and survivors of OSAEC, experience what every child deserves: safety, healing, belonging, and the lifelong protection of family.
