In the heart of Thaketa’s ASEAN Ward, Daw Than Myint lives with her husband and two young grandchildren. While her kind heart is evident, her harsh words and discipline created an environment of fear for her grandchildren.
When the GCA team first met Daw Than Myint in September 2023, she was on a personal journey of faith, exploring her relationship with Christ. She spoke with eagerness about God, and this openness became the foundation for meaningful conversations.
Through ongoing visits, we began to discuss forgiveness with her, encouraging her to reconcile with those she had been at odds with. Over time, our conversations shifted to helping her understand the impact of her words and actions on her grandchildren. Slowly, she began to reflect on her behavior and made intentional efforts to soften her approach.
Now, after six months of consistent support and relationship-building, Daw Than Myint’s transformation is unmistakable. Her words have grown gentler, and her grandchildren are no longer fearful of her, but are beginning to experience the warmth of her care. She has also learned to foster healthier relationships with others, building a stronger, more peaceful home.
