Mar San: A Life Transformed

At just 23 years old, Mar San found herself in a desperate situation. Her husband had just been hospitalised for alcohol abuse, which left her without support and forced to care for her newborn son and 6-year-old daughter alone.

Financially unstable, without basic necessities like food or safe shelter, and trapped in a violent relationship, Mar San felt overwhelmed. She knew that for the safety and well-being of herself and her children, drastic change was needed. 

Thanks to your support, Global Child Advocates was equipped to step in and help transform Mar San’s and her children’s  lives. GCA provided immediate relief: food, a safe place to stay, emotional counselling, and guidance on parenting. We also enrolled Mar San’s daughter in school which provided her with much needed stability during this time of crisis.

After Mar San’s husband was released from the hospital, his violence toward her continued, and he refused to seek further help for his addiction. GCA stood by Mar San, offering ongoing emotional and material support.

Deciding to change for a hopeful future.

Mar San ultimately made the decision to end the toxic relationship with her husband, and with GCA’s help, she began rebuilding her life, one that would be more stable, safe, and full of love with her children.

Mar San now has a job that has allowed her to start addressing her debts and feel hopeful again. Her daughter continues to attend school regularly, and Mar San has found emotional healing and stability for herself and her children. 

Mar San and her children have experienced remarkable improvements in their emotional well-being. They have begun to enjoy a more stable life together.
